Perfectly located hotel downtown! Our check in experience was very accommodating - our first room assignment was not clean - we brought this immediately to April's attention. April, quickly without question, moved us to another room that was much better! She upgraded us for our inconvenience and we were very grateful. By April's quick attention, we ended up having a wonderful stay! Parking was extremely convenient, breakfast was great every morning. The two restaurants in the hotel were convenient, delicious and staff was very friendly and accommodating! Would highly recommend this hotel even though the rooms were older. A special thank you to April, and staff for your wonderful customer service!

The lower level and lobby floors are truly beautiful. This hotel has a very convenient location, as we were able to enjoy Milwaukee for a few days without renting a car. We were able to mostly walk to a lot of different locations in the city. That said, the rooms left some things to be desired. The room was a little warmer than we’d prefer (it stayed around 72-74 degrees) despite multiple attempts to make adjustments on the thermostat. Additionally, the room we stayed in (the standard king room) had no fridge. This seems like it wouldn’t be a big deal, but it did put quite a damper on things when we were unable to bring any food back to the room with us other than non perishable items for the duration of our stay. Another small thing, the hotel did not have a cork screw for guests to use. I’ve never stayed at a hotel that did not have cork screws available for guest use. I will say that the guest services team was top notch during our stay. One night during our stay we needed new bedding quite late at night and the staff was very accommodating and pleasant. They swiftly took care of us with great customer service!

Staff were very polite and friendly. It was a busy weekend. Room was pretty small ...pillows were small square pillows more for decor not use. The room was 82 degrees. we shut it all off and got to 75 but we ended up purchasing a fan right help keep us cool. Parking fees pretty steep considering ... and wasn't disclosed about that when we booked

All staff we encountered was exceptional. Historic property exceedingly well maintained and polished. Felt opulent. Breakfast buffet excellent. Great location. Felt like staff was happy to be there and cohesive team. Concierge dogs a great touch. Best stay ever.

The hotel is gorgeous, especially the lobby and other common areas. The historic art deco design feels very classy and high-end, but sadly this does not translate very well to the guest rooms.

I'm a corporate traveler with Diamond status because I stay in a Hilton property 40-45 weeks a year. I booked a 'king deluxe' for a short two night trip, and I was happy to see a complimentary upgrade to a 'king superior' room before I arrived. I have a significant allergy to feathers, so I always request a feather-free room at booking. The hotel accommodated this request, and all seemed perfect until I got to the room.

The room décor was also very nice, but the most notable thing was the blast of cold air I felt when I entered the room. So I punched up the number on the thermostat from 65 to 72, got settled in, and sat down to do some work. Over an hour later, the temp had not moved. I put on my coat and gloves and called the front desk for service. They sent maintenance up right away, and after working on the unit for a few minutes, he said all was good to go. Except another hour passed and the temp had only moved up to 67. I was freezing, so I called the desk again and asked for another room.

A few minutes later, I am informed that the only feather-free rooms available are doubles. That's a significant downgrade, so the alternative was for maintenance to bring me a couple of space heaters. Great, fine, it's a short stay and moving rooms is a hassle anyway. Maintenance brings me the tiniest space heater on the market. I can only have one, though, because the wiring in the room is old and there is only one circuit, and using two would likely knock out the power in the room completely. Holy fire hazard, Batman.

In the end, the room never got above 70 degrees, and I had to make use of the blanket in the closet that was meant for the sofa bed. While 70 degrees might be the perfect temp for some people, it was not comfortable for me, especially since the outside temps were in the 40s and 50s and I live in Atlanta.

The rooms also do not have microwaves or refrigerators, which would be an issue for me if I had a longer stay. Finally, the tech in the room is outdated. The TV lacked any smart features and the remote didn't work very well.

While I understand maintaining the historic ambiance, the hotel really needs to invest in updating the heat and air. After reading through the reviews here, I can see it's a very common theme, so I know it's not isolated to the specific room or floor.

And after this whole ordeal, the only thing I was offered was a downgrade. Yikes.
