We had a riverfront view, and the curtains didn't close. Wealso were listening to traffic from the road that went by, all night long, because it was a busy road.
So, we couldn't sleep because the light came in the room from the patio and building, lighting up the room a lot, until 6am, when it became light out and the traffic noise was constant until 4am.
I was not happy about that.
The heat was noisy when it kicked on, and was annoying also.
We liked the bed, and it was comfortable.
I don't recommend staying there. I would give the room and location 0 starts if possible.
Very unfortunate room and heating conditions, and sleepless night because of it.

I am beyond shocked that this place has the rating it does. We visited this hotel for one night (one too many). There were only 3 people that we interacted with, they were polite. This is more of an overall establishment issue. This hotel simply isn’t clean. I was surprised that it carried a chain name because normally there are standards. I do find reviews helpful when making decisions, otherwise I wouldn’t bother, I simply wouldn’t return. Our room was a disappointment. We had a river view, sort of. The cobwebs and grime on the windows prevented a nice view. The beds were clean-ish if you didn’t look at the bed skirting (just don’t). There was one outlet. The rest didn’t work or were broken or did not work on normal plugs, (weird). The bath tub was stained and yellowed. (Not because it was supposed to be). Coffee maker in the room was not clean and had no cream etc., so I hope you like it black. No breakfast which was fine because at that point I’m sure I wouldn’t have eaten it. I simply would not recommend this hotel to others. There are many other choices in close proximity.

I come here often with my family and am always greeted with the up most hospitality! Barbra, the front desk lady always goes above and beyond for my family whenever were staying. Barb really makes our stay unforgettable!

Positive: Easy check in and out. Desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was comfortable with soft sheets and towels. Negative: Staff working breakfast were useless. They sat at the bar and talked the whole time, never getting anything for the guests or checking on the buffet. Two of three coffee urns were empty. No decaf option was disappointing as well.

Very outdated room. I had to laugh. It was room #420. We had guests in town who stayed there for a week. The room was covered in dust. It looked like it hadn't been used in months. We made sure and confirmed there were no bedbugs. We brought over cleaning supplies and even a small hand vac. The amount of dust bunnies was pretty impressive. One of our guests has a disability. We didn't want to stress her out with switching rooms.

Nice hotel on the river. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. Our only complaint was that the restaurant was not open on Sunday. This was disappointing after we had spent the day walking downtown and were looking forward to having a nice dinner without having to go anywhere. But, it was our fault for not checking before hand.

It's was an absolutely awful stay. First they told us at check in that breakfast was included, it was not and we informed after we ate. $16/person for some cereal, bagels and powdered eggs. Go to Solly's across the street for breakfast, is cheaper and 1000 times better. Then we asked if they could hold our bags since our flight didn't leave till 5. The blonde at the front desk said "sure, set them over there and I'll put them in the office" at 330 when we came to claim them they were not in the office and still sitting in the hallway we were told to set them. The new front desk person had no idea they were ours, anyone could've taken them. One bag is a vets, and it's marked so. Glad to see to they care about customers especially vets? I will never use them again. The rooms themselves were pretty r bad, we couldn't walk one half of the floor because it was soaked from the ac unit, the bathroom wasn't clean and the smell of mold was everywhere. All in all I would not recommend it to my worst enemy.

It’s sad to see how far this place has come down since Holiday (2 star) took it over from Hilton, when it was a 3 star. The Anchorage pub used to be a lovely spot to sit and overlook the river. Now that room is a boring conference room. The bar once had a beautiful aquarium and a lot of ambience. Now they’ve put a boring bar into a sterile lobby. The addition of sectional seating with gas fire for the patio seemed nice, but if it rains, the cushions get soaked. Patio lights were on during the day, wasting energy.

During our stay the hot water was out for the hotel during an entire Saturday (I see this has happened before). There were no towels at the pool (not because they were all used. There just weren’t any). Poorly maintained now. No ice in ice machines on floors. A/C units in rooms had pools of water on the floor, saturating carpet. This is undoubtedly a mold issue.

I see many have posted similar experiences over the past year, and the response given to each is the same, “we strive…please try us again…” but obviously these issues are ongoing.

Edited to add: I was surprised to see next morning they were trying to charge people for the basic breakfast they offer. Also some guests described sewer backups in their rooms. There was a septic service onsite that morning. Also there seems to have been some discrepancy between the number of nights guests were comped. For the 24+ hour issue.
