This was my 2nd or 3rd experience with this hospital. The first time in 2007 was life changing yet best experience of my life. I was treated for a stroll for 3 months in the Johnson building. Best treatment & caring staff I will always hold dear to me. Now this most recent experience was dreadful, I never would have ever imagine the lack of professionalism or care for patients or patients’ well-being/health could and would be disregarded so blatantly! For one how can HIPAA laws be enforced or respected if privacy isn’t given; a curtain separating patients while requesting personal information and discussing medical issues?! I complained about the area not being cleaned, I’m coming in to get treated not leave out with Hepatitis/staff infection or any other bacteria contamination. Here my nurse coming in stating she seen housekeeping clean the room herself but when asked would she want to receive treatment in a room with a bin holding feces and urine soiled linen , she replied no. So why in the world would make anyone think I want to?! Yet this same nurse reassured she would send someone back to clean the area properly, guess what by the time I was discharged no one came! The best part of my ER visit was the attending physician Dr. Thornton, he listened. Sorry to say but Baylor really needs to restart their entire housekeeping department as well as most of their ER staff as well. Too many are complacent/ disrespectful and surely lack professionalism of care! A hospital should maintain cleanliness and proper sanitary ethics at all times to reduce the risks of others contracting unnecessary ailments minor or serious

My mom (84)was transfer from Parkland Hospital to Baylor Truett Building on 12/22/24. My mom is still a patient. I could not wait to write my review. The teams of doctors, nurses, speech therapy, physical therapy, OT and techs is truly what you would call a dream team!! Everyone was on the same page when it came to my mother health. The 6th floor has been my home for the last 6 days. ? ? ? this will not be my only review. Thank you so much!! This hospital has been a true blessing.
12/28/2024 My mom was released 2 days earlier than expected.?. My family wants to give a big thank you to security for always giving us nice welcome every time we walk-in and friendly goodbye when we left. To housekeeping thank you for giving my mom and I laughter every time y’all walking in our room.
My mom is now heading to her next journey, rehab facility. ?

It's been a little over 2 years since I was here. I came in with covid and was finally released about 8 months later. I owe my life to these awesome doctors and nurses, especially Dr Monday. Yes at times it does get hectic but I wouldn't go anywhere else. On May 2nd I attended the survival ECMO get together and was finally able to thank Dr Monday in person.

The ABSOLUTE WORST HOSPITAL in Dallas I waited 5hrs with my 80yr old grandmother just for an X-ray then another 3hrs for anyone to see about her condition. She had shortness of breath and her blood sugar was over 400 EVERY nurse or whoever works the ER was EXTREMELY RUDE AND VERY SHORT TEMPERATURE when asked simple basic update questions the entire ER lacks a since of urgency the police officers that work at the front are 10x more helpful than anyone actually working in the ER I’m not sure how to or if it’s even possible to fix the issue maybe they need more staff as a whole but SIMPLE courtesy and Politeness is easy to give I understand that they deal with difficult people on a daily basis but not everyone is difficult and they shouldn’t be treated as such no one should feel bad for asking questions after HOURS of nothing.

My brother received excellent care from this facility. I too experienced excellent care as a family member of the patient from the social worker and physician. Dr. Elder was so compassionate toward my brother and her genuine care was evident in all her interactions with me. Claudia Shook was probably the best social worker I have ever had the pleasure to encounter in that she maintained excellent communication with me, was consistently positive and reassuring, as well as patient and kind. I would give 6 stars if I could.

I am very displeased with my stay here. The doctors do not seem to communicate with nurses. nurses seem like they dont know updates or changes as quickly as they should to prioritize patients safety and health. I had many questions during my stay that could not be answered. the nurse Yolanda was great and caring and I am happy i had her. But most of the time when I pressed the call button I was answered with annoyed nurses after like 5 minutes. I almost peed myself various times. most of the time I was treated as a to do list instead of a person. if you dont like your job, leave it! also as a high fall risk patient I needed a nurse or tech with me to help me in the restroom at all times. however I had one guy tech/nurse who did not help me at all when I went to the bathroom. he closed the door completely and when I tripped and dropped all my personal care items on the floor he did not open the door or offer to help me pick eveything up. I could have seriously fallen badly ! towards the end of my stay, they rushed me out of my room. they gave me less than 10 minutes to gather all of my overnight bags and clean myself a little. ( i hadnt bathed in 4 days). I understand you are nearing your shift and want to scratch me off your list, but patients should be a priority, and that was not the case here at the medical center truett building third floor.

I showed up on time, and was a few minutes from being taken back to the OR. Then, my surgery got bumped due to an emergency. However, it’s been three hours now.
I’ve seen plenty of other patients go back to surgery while I’m still sitting here waiting. Im told they sent home some of the OR teams and anesthesia.
The only time I get an update is if I ask, literally an hour without telling me what’s going on. No hourly rounding.
My nurse apparently left hours ago, but never introduced me to a new nurse. I have no idea who is supposed to be taken care of me.

Love this hospital! I have brought my daughter once for an ear infection and now again here for my mother with stage 4 lung cancer complications. They are so quick and have such great bed side manor! Place is clean! Highly recommend!
