Love love LOVE this credit union! As I read a review before I started mine, I'm just finding out that 7-11 and other credit union atms are surcharge free!
I mainly deal with Ashley at the Carson branch and I love her. I always tell ppl "if you don't have a bank account at the moment DONT GET ONE! Credit unions are so much better and more specifically, CCU; you're not just another account number there, they truly operate with your best interest in mind."

The service is great, but DO NOT USE their debit cards on any business transaction. I was scammed twice and they didn’t help me to get the money back when there was obviously the evidence of scams.

Use your credit cards on travel and any business transactions.

Otherwise, I have no complaint.

Called previously to see if they would be open for a new account.
Closed my business, drove all the way down there just to find out its a CU for Teachers Etc. The "banker" didnt even greet me properly before she was trying to rush me out of the door. based on their Customer Service I'm glad I got the early warning signs. I'd rather pay to get good service!

Moved here from the "Big Players", best move ever-breaking up with my banker bf Chase, and stopping that 4 horse wagon from running off with my mortgage payments!! Our experiences with CCU have always been amazing and very professional!! Having the convenience to go to any 7-11 or other credit unions to use the ATM is so convenient. Plus, can't beat the Zelle, electronic check deposit, bill pay and the ability to connect outside accounts is invaluable!!! I love this credit union...wayyyyy better than traditional banking!! Although they cater to teachers, you can join if you know someone in education. I took my sister to join! One more thing..if your card stops working for some reason you can ask them which branch can give you same day service. We had that problem and we went and got the the card replaced that day!!

This bank is useless! When filing a dispute, they make you jump through fire hoops. They give you a temporary credit, but when your claim is over, they deduct the money from your account with no warning regardless if you won or not.
I've asked about business accounts. They respond to me as if I'm not capable of owning a business. They make it seem as if I can't handle it. I've asked for small amounts of credit. They don't offer that. I tried to refinance a new car. It didn't qualify.
The reps are tired of us. I make them do their jobs. One guy completely ignores us because he didn't understand my complaint. I had to explain the situation to three people, show pictures, and fine comb my account history to prove to them I was right, before they would even tickle my complaint. I won my $900 back seven months later.
Now they deducted their temporary credit from my rent money. Now I have a late fee on top of rent. Mfrs!!!

It's stupid to stop being a customer because you can't access the ATM at this branch after 5pm, since you can literally use the ATM at any 7-Eleven FREE OF CHARGE, most of which are accessible 24 hours a day. The bank has about eight branches in total in all of L.A., why would you want to use the ATM at a specific branch when there's 7-Elevens everywhere? I love this bank, and I love their service.

This Bank has much to offer,Check it out! And if you are going a financial rep. I suggest you just go to Brendon Doyle. He treats everyone equally, has a pleasant smile and handshake. Understands the customer and makes the experience very enjoyable. He should be training the staff there in my opinion. He is very qualified.

For those of you who seem to be confused, this is a Credit Union, NOT a bank. Credit Unions are collective organizations where depositors are share holders, members in the organization, i.e. the Credit Union members OWN it. There are Credit Unions for Fire Fighters, Credit Unions for Police Officers, for Longshore Men, for the University of Southern California, and so on. Credit Unions tend to align with a particular associations or areas of expertise. Those who participate in a Credit Union join other similar folks as the owners served by that credit union. This one serves Teachers and other school employees. It is not a faceless, anonymous mega corporation out to rip off depositors as many ways as possible. You know, like the big guys who were "Too big to Fail!" The BANKS the rest of us, including Credit Union members, bailed out of the financial mess they'd put the whole country in. Rather than grumble and mutter, "there ought to be a law," look around. There's probably a Credit Union you qualify to join. Ask at your place of employment. You're H.R. staff ought to know, and ask fellow employees. In over thirty years as a member of this Credit Union I have only one complaint. Can you say that about your bank? What is my one gripe? They closed the closet branch, so now, when my classic car isn't operable (often, like this morning), visiting the branch requires long bus rides and transfers. Once I get there, by bus or car, I am always treated with the courtesy and respect I RARELY received from the Stage Coach bank I used for 15 years prior to shifting to the California Teachers' Credit Union, as was the name then. The choice is yours, but don't blame credit unions if, for bias known only to you, you've chosen or want a bank.
