Wait is as usual long as it is the DMV..but recommend coming on the weekdays as it seems less busy then. Been here a few times, one time the worker at the front windows was very nice, the other time not so much. That time, the worker asked why I couldn’t just do the drivers test tomorrow and I said because there were no appts and I am busy. And she rolled her eyes. I wasn’t even there that time for my drivers test so I don’t know why she felt the need to ask and then judge. I did my drivers test later here (path was easy) but it felt like Cynthia was making reasons to fail me - she did not like how I did certain items like pull up to the curb but not to the end of it (because she did not specify that). 0 smiling and extreme rudeness at every interaction. I added one star because the ladies inside were nice but even that’s a gamble.

Extremely welcoming unlike other CA DMV locations. Not crowded. Pleasant atmosphere. Once I got to a window transaction was handled promptly and professionally. Also had a semi important question answered with great advice and instructions.

Very worst experience. I went to Taft dmv, the staff was very nice for my first behind the wheel test and the lady who took my behind the wheel was very nice to me. But for my second behind the wheel I booked for shafter. The lady who came for the test was Cynthia, my God was very arrogant in nature. She asked for all signs, when I explained everything and about to start the test . Suddenly she told me that your jeep tires are big and she can't take my test and walk away without listening for a second. I went again to her to request that I have another car on which I can take test but she was very rude and not ready to listen anything and asked me to book for next time. I don't know why she was so frustrated with her job, and wasted my time and my chance but I can't forget her rude and red angry face. She should learn how to handle her personal and professional life. I don't know what she is going to teach her children. Sorry for one star.. I would give zero star to Cynthia.

Teníamos un pésimo servicio en este departamento ahora estás peor que antes solo quedan 5 trabajadores ahy una mujer americana que habla dos idiomas ella casi siempre te ayuda pero ahy una muchacha joven de unos 28 a 30 años con unas grandes pestañas que no la favorecen se le miran pésimo y juraría que es del estado de Oaxaca de México que si párese que habla español es sumamente antipática y SORPRENDEMENTE NO ABLA ESPAÑOL

every employee here is on a huge power trip, especially the hispanic driving instructor lady. wanted me to cut someone off during my test and when i slowed down to safely merge she failed me. what a joke

Bad experience over their ,there’s officer woman may be Micxican she was arrogant and with me when I make a test, their is no reason to be like that with people, she made me on stress, I am not passed test although I made every thing good, I don’t think I made any big mistake, and there was another officer woman maybe she nice, I saw her smile and optimistic .

This is one of my first reviews. And today I went in to take my first driver's test and I was feeling very anxious. I go in, the lady at the first window had a little bit attitude or something but it seemed reasonable, so it was okay. I did have an appointment so the wait time wasn't bad. I recommend coming here though if you're taking your driver's test. Anyways, the lady who I took my test with felt welcoming and nice, having her helped with my anxiety. She was patient and still did her job correctly and great. So there's a shout-out to her, without her I don't know how well I would've felt doing my test, Thank You.
The test itself wasn't long (atleast didn't feel that way). The guy who tickets people indoor was very kind too (I believe his name was Alejandro), he told and showed where to go. Very respectful.
There was a bit of wait time when we switched to getting my real ID, but it wasn't an unbearable time.
Hope this review can do justice if needed if you're unsure about coming.
